REFLECTIVITY

In the context of military planes' furtivity as well as the limitation of wind turbines' radar noise, it is necessary to reduce electromagnetic waves reflexion at its minimum. HYMAG'IN's absorbing materials can fulfil this need.

The role played by the material in attenuating the electromagnetic waves reflexion is measured with Reflection Loss (RL), expressed in dB.

The RL comes from two phenomenons:

  • the material absorbing the wave (specifics to HYMAG'IN's materials)
  • relfected waves from different interfaces interfering with one another

These two phenomenons lead to a peak-shaped RL, placed at a given frequency for a given thickness.
